DESIGN Your Lifestyle Medicine Makeover: Vet Tech Educator Edition

Melyssa Allen, MA, NBC-CHWC, DipACLM, Melyssa with a WHY, LLC

Veterinary technician educators pour themselves into their students, their programs, and their profession — often with very little left over for their own wellbeing. In a field known for burnout, compassion fatigue, and chronic stress, that shortfall doesn't just wear down the educator. This interactive workshop introduces the six pillars of lifestyle medicine — nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoiding risky substances — as author of Healthy Living Doesn't Have to SUCK and double board-certified lifestyle medicine coach Melyssa Allen gives educators a practical makeover for their own health, plus a repeatable framework they can carry back into how they teach, lead, and model wellbeing for the next generation of veterinary technicians.

Community Give Back Event in the Hilton Portland Downtown

Due to an overwhelming response, we have started a wait list. We are working hard to find ways to accommodate additional participants.

Join us as we get to work on behalf of PAW Teama grassroots, volunteer-powered nonprofit that provides vital veterinary services, pet supplies, and wrap-around support for over 4,300 Portland-area families per year. The participants will put together comfort packages for the PAW Team to distribute in the Portland community.

We will also engage with the DoveLewis Pet Loss Support Program, making sympathy cards and memorial tokens. This further highlights the importance of community and honoring the human-animal bond.

Light bites are included in the evening's program.

Advance registration by July 17 requested. AVTE must provide hotel with headcount.

Sponsored by Platinum Educational Group, DoveLewis, and Hill's Pet Nutrition
