AVTSE Joins Forces with AVTE!April 2024 An Open Letter to the Veterinary Education Community: We are thrilled to share some exciting news that marks a significant milestone in advancing veterinary technician education. The Academy of Veterinary Technician Specialists in Education (AVTSE) and its VTES credential are now officially part of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) This merger represents a powerful synergy between two organizations with a shared commitment to advancing teaching excellence in veterinary technician education. With AVTE's 2024 focus on "teaching excellence," this is an ideal time to join forces. We are primed to redefine veterinary technician educators' roles and further grow this vital community that our organizations have served. We are particularly excited about the opportunities this partnership will offer for the VTES credential to flourish and expand its reach. Together, we will work to ensure that the VTES credential takes its rightful place within the veterinary technology education community and create a supportive community of VTES recipients. A governance group working in collaboration with the AVTE Board, as appropriate, will continue to guide the administration of the VTES examination and be responsible for its growth. In the coming weeks, this group will have its first meeting in anticipation of a VTES relaunch around Memorial Day, well before the AVTE annual conference this July in Houston, Texas. We invite you to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion and embracing the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
