Veterinary Hope Foundation
Well being is not a one time thing. It is a continuous, lifetime practice. These four short thoughts from Krista Martin were shared in the daily emails to AVTE 2025 Conference Attendees. At the end is the information for the new support group cohort just for Veterinary Technicians and Teams and link to join for those interested.
Belonging Is the Antidote to Burnout
So many veterinary professionals give their all to patient care while quietly feeling overlooked in the rhythm of clinic life. It’s a tension we hear again and again—deep purpose, but little acknowledgment. As educators and leaders, we have an opportunity to change that.
Belonging isn’t a perk. It’s protection. When people feel connected, heard, and supported, burnout risk drops. Team trust builds. And retention improves—not just because people stay, but because they feel they matter.
At Veterinary Hope Foundation, we believe every veterinary professional deserves a space to be seen and heard. That’s why we’re launching a new cohort of our virtual support group for veterinary technicians beginning September 2025. These professionally facilitated groups offer space to process the emotional weight of the work, connect with peers, and reclaim a sense of shared purpose.
Let’s create a profession where every technician belongs. You don’t have to do this alone—and neither should they.
Intentional Wellbeing Isn’t a Luxury—It’s a Lifeline
It’s time to move beyond reminders to real support.
We’ve all heard it: “Take care of yourself.” But for veterinary professionals, that’s easier said than done. Long shifts, heavy caseloads, and the emotional labor of caregiving often push personal wellness to the margins. That’s why intentional, systemic support isn’t optional—it’s essential.
At Veterinary Hope Foundation, wellbeing is woven into everything we do. This fall, we’re expanding that mission with a new virtual support group just for veterinary technicians. Launching in September 2025, the group offers a confidential space to explore boundaries, grief, values, and the emotional side of the work.
Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s survival. Let’s model it. Let’s teach it. Let’s live it. Together.
Connection Builds Resilience
Strong teams are built on trust—not just tasks.
Veterinary medicine is hard. It becomes unsustainable when done in isolation. When technicians feel connected—to each other, to their purpose, and to their teams—they are more equipped to stay engaged, supported, and well.
At Veterinary Hope Foundation, connection is core to everything we offer. In September 2025, we’ll launch a new cohort of our virtual support group just for veterinary technicians—a confidential space for honest reflection, peer support, and shared humanity.
Connection protects us. Community carries us. Let’s help our techs find both.
Communication Is Clinical
Listening. Advocating. Debriefing. All of it matters.
Veterinary technicians do more than clinical care—they educate, advocate, hold space, and navigate emotion-laden conversations daily. And yet, many receive little support in developing the emotional and relational side of their work.
At Veterinary Hope Foundation, we believe communication is care. Our virtual support group for veterinary technicians—launching September 2025—will be a place to practice presence, share stories, and explore how words can connect, restore, and heal.
Communication isn’t a soft skill. it’s a survival skill. Let’s equip every veterinary professional to use it well.
